Week Without Violence 2025
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month with the 3rd week designated the Week Without Violence, a global movement with YWCA’s across the country and around the world to end violence against women, girls and people of color. This year’s event takes place October 20-24, 2025.
Each year, during the Week Without Violence, the YWCA Greater Harrisburg hosts its annual First Responders Breakfast, an event honoring first responders who respond daily to domestic violence calls, which are some of the most dangerous situations law enforcement officers and EMTs respond to each day. This breakfast will be held Friday, October 24 from 8:00-9:30 a.m. at the Harrisburg Country Club. This breakfast is free to attend but attendees must be registered.
Sponsors of the Week Without Violence will join us in creating a response against violence in our communities and acknowledge we all have a role to play in keeping our communities safe.
This campaign will support the YWCA Greater Harrisburg’s Violence Intervention and Prevention programs.
