All currently available volunteer opportunities are listed in our Volunteer Application. While completing the application, please indicate which opportunities are of interest to you. Once your application is submitted, a volunteer coordinator will be in touch within 3-4 business days to schedule an orientation and building tour.
Most opportunities require Child Abuse History (Act 33) and PA State Police clearances, as well as an FBI Criminal Background Check (Note: A volunteer applicant who has been a resident of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the entirety of the previous 10 years is not required to have an FBI criminal background check completed so long as he/she is able to provide written affirmation that he/she is not disqualified from service based upon a conviction of an offense under Section 6344). Please be prepared to complete these clearance forms or provide the results, if available, during your volunteer orientation. All volunteers over the age of 18, will be required to secure the above clearances and sign a confidentiality agreement before volunteering.
The YWCA Greater Harrisburg is unable to accommodate supervision requrements involved with mandatory community service.
