The YWCA Veterans Department provides a number of housing opportunities for homeless veterans. Current programs include transitional housing for eligible homeless single male veterans through the Department of Veterans Affairs, a grant and per diem program, and permanent supportive housing for disabled, chronically homeless veterans funded through the Department of Housing and Urban Development and administered by the Dauphin County Continuum of Care through the YWCA Greater Harrisburg, YW-Veterans Housing program.  Areas of service and eligibility for these programs vary and are based on established criteria and current occupancy levels.

Veterans Housing Case Managers provide case management, goal planning, transportation, referral and other supportive services to enrolled, eligible homeless veterans. Individual goal plans are tailored to meet the homeless veteran’s unique needs and goals. Plans may include development of employment or other sources of income, housing stability, transition to permanent housing, educational goals and/or overcoming barriers to success.
