13th Annual Race Against Racism
On Saturday, April 29, 2017 the YWCA Greater Harrisburg will hold its 13th Annual Race Against Racism. This 5K run/walk is a mission-driven event promoting awareness of racism in our community and raises vital funds to support our racial justice programs throughout the year.
This marks the second year holding the Race Against Racism in the heart of Harrisburg - starting and ending at Soldier's Grove and following a route through downtown and midtown. The YWCA is proud to call this city our home, where we have been rooted for 122 years. The Race is a great opportunity for people of all ages to engage with the city in a fun and unique way.
In years past, over 700 people have participated in the 5K run/walk and the accompanying Humanity Fest, which features culturally diverse performers, food trucks, and children's activities.
Race-Day Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. leading up to the race start of 8:30 a.m. The Annual Kid's Fun Run will take place at 10:00 a.m. during the Humanity Fest.
The YWCA will be accepting early bird registration until March 31st.
Early Bird registration rates include an individual rate of $26.00 and applies to participants in a team. Early bird registration for children, 12 and under, is $16.00.
Race-Day Registration will be $30.00 for an individual and $20.00 for a child, 12 and under.
