Crisis Advocate

The YWCA of Greater Harrisburg is seeking a full-time crisis advocate to provide services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.  Must be a self-starter, able to handle difficult crisis situations, able to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field or an Associates degree and two years work experience in a related field. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, proof of insurance , criminal background check, child abuse clearances, and FBI, etc. The YWCA of Greater Harrisburg is an EOE.

 

Evening Housing Representative

The YWCA is seeking a part-time, Saturday and Sunday evening representative for their homeless programs.  The hours are 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM. This candidate will be responsible for meeting the physical needs of our guests, completing intakes and data entry.  Successful candidate should be a self-starter, highly motivated, well organized, work independently and utilize sound judgment.

Requirements:
Working knowledge of computer packages including Outlook, Excel and Word. Experience in a residential facility A+. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and proof of insurance

VETS Employment Specialist

The YWCA is seeking a VETS Employment Specialist to fill a temporary full-time position. Successful applicant will provide outreach and employment services with supportive case management to homeless veterans living in shelters and in the community. Applicant needs to be detailed oriented and be able to provide outreach, case management, employment readiness and supportive services to homeless clients in a variety of environments.  

Requirements:

All candidates should be familiar with homeless individual challenges especially those facing homeless veterans and be familiar with “Supported Employment” based service delivery and have a minimum of 2 years experience as an employment specialist, or other related human services position. Being a veteran or individual who has worked with homeless veterans is a plus. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and proof of insurance. Criminal background check, child abuse clearances, and FBI, etc. YWCA of Greater Harrisburg is an EOE.

Supported Employment Team Leader

This position includes responsibility for the day-to-day management of the YWCA’s Supported Employment Program including supervision of a team of Supported Employment Specialists and Certified Peer Specialists. Associated case management and administrative work. The successful applicant will possess excellent case management and interpersonal skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and bilingual skills a plus.

Requirements: Masters Degree in Psychology, Social Work, with a minimum of 3 years management experience or a Bachelors Degree in these fields with a minimum of 5 years of management experience.  All candidates must be familiar with the  “Supported Employment” Evidence Based Practice and have experience working with individuals with mental health and/or Co-Occurring Disorders. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and proof of insurance . Criminal background check, child abuse clearances, etc . YWCA of Greater Harrisburg is an EOE.

 

Supported Employment Specialist 

The YWCA is seeking a Supported Employment Specialist to assist single/dual diagnosed formerly homeless residents in employment recovery. Must have at least three years management experience, be detailed oriented, and be able to provide outreach, case management, employment readiness and supportive services to client.

Requirements: All candidates must be familiar with the “Supported Employment” model, have a minimum of 3 years experience as an employment specialist, or other related human services position and work with single/dual-diagnosed clients. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and proof of insurance, criminal background check, child abuse clearances, etc . YWCA of Greater Harrisburg is an EOE.

 

Homeless Female Veteran and Families Specialist

The VETS program is seeking a highly qualified individual (veteran preferred) to provide outreach and employment services with supportive case management to homeless female veterans and homeless veterans with families. Applicant will be responsible to meet homeless veterans where they congregate, to provide employment readiness, and other supportive services.  

Requirements:  Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and proof of insurance. Act 33 and State Police clearances. The YWCA of Greater Harrisburg is an EOE.
