What are the hours of camp, and what does a typical day look like?

Our summer camp program starts at 8 AM and runs until 5 PM.  Campers must be dropped off and picked up from Camp.  We will start our day with a morning meeting and opening ceremonies.

This summer, STEM educators from the State Library of Pennsylvania are bringing a mobile STEMlab to Camp Reily! Throughout the summer, students will participate in becoming an environmental ambassador, learning how citizen science contributes to a smart, critical-thinking world.

Students will be monitoring the local creek with an investigative project that engages them to think critically about the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Students will participate in background research with hands on activities geared at opening young minds to stewardship and civic action within their communities.

This program meets academic standards for the field.

Groups will then go through their morning activity rotation of arts & crafts, sports and nature time.  Campers will enjoy free time before lunch, with swimming, more group activities and snack after lunch.

There will also be an afternoon meeting and some cool down time before the children leave camp for their pick up locations. Some days will be slightly different due to field trips, guest speakers or special activities.

What should my camper wear to camp?

Campers are asked to wear closed toe shoes, modest swimwear and appropriate clothing that is easy to play in and can get dirty. It is a great idea for your child to keep a labeled extra set of clothing in their bags.

What should my camper bring with them?

We ask that all campers bring a swim suit, towel, sunscreen, bug spray & a water bottle. On field trip days, the children will be notified what to bring in advance based on the field trip destination.

Are your counselors and lifeguards qualified? What is your counselor to camper ratio?

Our qualified counselors are certified to work with children and are trained on camp related topics yearly, and our lifeguards all are certified through the American Red Cross.  We use a 1:10 counselor to camper ratio in all ares except swimming, where we observe the regulations set forth by the Department of Human Services.

How do you handle food restrictions?
