The YWCA is pleased to announce the roll-out of our “What To Do When Stopped by the Police” community education initiative. Designed to provide community members (particularly young people) with the knowledge and tools to have safer interactions with law enforcement officers, it includes a brochure, wallet card and social media graphic – all available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin and French.

This project comes out of the Criminal Justice & Community Relations Taskforce, a coalition of law enforcement and community leaders convened by the YWCA to build stronger police-community relations in our region.

The press and the public are invited to a press conference as we unveil this important project. Speakers will include YWCA CEO Mary Quinn, Harrisburg Police Chief Thomas Carter, Swatara Police Chief Jason Umberger and PA State Police Captain Kristal Turner-Childs.
