Homeless Veterans' Stand Down

Friends of the Homeless Veterans’ Stand Down,

The 11^th Annual Stand Down is scheduled to take place the weekend of January 27^th through the 29^th 2017 at the Harrisburg Armory, 1400 Calder Street, Harrisburg, PA.  This event provides critical services and support to homeless and at risk veterans from communities throughout South Central Pennsylvania.

The Stand Down provides a unique opportunity to bring our community together to provide care in a manner that welcomes these Veterans and lets them know that we will continue to provide opportunities for their success.  As we move forward into our second decade of service please know that none of this would be possible without the ongoing dedication of our partners and volunteers.

Ambassadors are needed to assist Veterans throughout the event, including help in accessing various services, obtaining meals, and meeting with event service providers. Ambassadors must be 18 years old or older and should have a caring heart, good listening skills, patience, and the desire to help Veterans. Training will be provided.
